Doug and Ivy have been happily running New Hall Bank for the past thirteen years and can boast that over that time we have made many friends and have built up a large cliental of repeat guests - It has always been our aim to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere one where you can feel that you can “kick off your shoes and feel at home” To date this has proved a winning formula one which we hope will never change.

Dear Doug and Ivy, I would like to thank you for a wonderful weekend away in your beautiful and very well kept guest house. The location is perfect for shopping, walking and sightseeing. You made both me and my wife feel very welcome and spoke to us as if you had known us for years even though we were perfect strangers, this made us very relaxed.
Doug: Your knowledge of the area was fantastic, when ever i told you what were my plans for the day, you told me the best way to get there, where to park etc. Fantastic
Ivy: Your breakfasts are to die for, absolutely beautiful, i don't think i have had a breakfast like it, and the variety is amazing.
To sit in the dining area eating a lovely breakfast, watching the birds and squirrels eating the bread and nuts through the window, what more could a anybody want. We will be recommending you to friends and family, with the perfect location you are situated in and the very warm welcome We will definitely be returning very soon for another long weekend so please be prepared for a phone call to book up within the next few weeks.

Hi Ivy and Doug A rather belated thank you for our lovely stay 30 July - 2 August. I have passed on a couple of your cards to friends - although slightly regretting it now in case it means you'll be fully booked when we try for our next visit!! Given your central location, the peace and quiet is unbelievable. Your breakfasts set us up for the day (thanks Doug, for your guidance on walks and dining out etc). The view from your dining room is spectacular - I can still visualise it now. We look forward to many more visits and once again, many thanks for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

Dear Doug & Ivy,
We looked for a place on your web site to put up our comments but couldn't so we decided to send you an e-mail. If you wish, you can put it up on the web site. We had a really wonderful time staying at New Hall Bank Guest House. Your hospitality is simply marvellous and the warmth that you exude for your guests make us feel like coming back over and over again to stay at your guest house. We loved Doug's friendly, ever smiling face and his wonderful sense of humour !!! Even though, ours was a last minute decision to visit The Lake District on our visit to London this time, we were quite lucky to have got a room near the Lake Windemere during the crowded Bank Holiday weekend. We loved the view of the lake from our ground floor room but on our next visit we would definitely like to stay in one of the rooms on the top floor. The location is really what you claim to have --- envious spot ! It is so close to the lake, the Bowness Pier and the main street filled with shops .... and yet it is in a quiet spot away from the noise. Ideal place to stay. We have recommended the place to many of our friends. We hope to visit Lake District again in the near future with more time in hand so that we can explore all the places of interest.
